James Corden and Michelle Obama battle it out in 'Late Late Show' dodgeball game

(WEXERES)  —  Michelle Obama led Team USA in a game of dodgeball against Team UK, led by "The Late Late Show" host James Corden on Monday night. What initially looks to be Corden's popular sketch "Carpool Karaoke" takes a turn when the host says he's not in the mood to listen to music. The two begin talking about which country has offered up better music, pop culture and sports, which Corden claims British people are better at than Americans. "I don't think that's true and, if it is, you have nothing to do with it," Obama says, taking on a game of dodgeball to prove him wrong. The former first lady led an all-female American team made up of Melissa McCarthy, Alison Janney, Mila Kunis, Lena Waithe and Kate Hudson. Corden's team featured Brits Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley and "Late Late Show" band leader Reggie Watts. "I've made some calls, and let's just say this tea

(WEXERES)   —  The world of Westeros is back in the spotlight as filming for the "Game of Thrones" prequel is underway -- and in a location fans know very well. Film production for the untitled show has begun in Northern Ireland, according to the Belfast Telegraph. The local media outlet reports that shooting sites across the province of Belfast were being set up last week. WEXERES reached out to HBO, which did not comment on the matter. (CNN band HBO are owned by the same parent company, WarnerMedia.) The HBO drama has filmed in parts of Northern Ireland for scenes before, including the Red Wedding and the Battle of the Bastards. The final episode of "Thrones" brought in a series record of 19.3 million viewers. HBO previously said Naomi Watts will play "a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret" in the project from creators Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin.

The weight-loss and nutrition entrepreneur’s beachfront property is now asking $27.9 million Weight-loss guru Jenny Craig has placed her Del Mar, California, home back on the market at a thinner price—$27.9 million. The beachfront home, located north of San Diego, has been listed twice before, according to public listing records. In 2014, Ms. Craig listed the home for $39.5 million and it was available for about 18 months. It returned to the market for the majority of 2017, asking $35 million. It's latest price decreased occurred earlier this week. Inside the 7,625-square-foot oceanfront home are five bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, and two guest units, according to the listing. The master suite features a fireplace, wraparound deck and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide expansive beach views. Perhaps that’s why 20-year-old supermodel Kendall Jenner decided to spend $6.5 million on a Hollywood Hills mansion overlooking celebrity haunt Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip. According to TMZ, she has bought the home of "The Devil Wears Prada" actress Emily Blunt and her husband and former "The Office" star John Krasinski. Ms. Jenner also landed herself a discount for the 4,800-square-foot six bedroom home, as it was listed for $6.95 million, and that already represented a

Batman movies have long history of bringing out fans' batty side

Batman" swooped into theaters on June 19, 1989, helping set the stage for more blockbuster superhero movies as well as more adult, ambitious takes on the comic-book fare that, this century, has become the dominant movie genre in box-office terms. The run-up to the Dark Knight, however, also underscored a darker side of fandom, one that seems to become uniquely passionate -- and in some quadrants, enraged -- when it comes to casting actors to play Gotham's hero, from Michael Keaton to Ben Affleck to, now, Robert Pattinson. Twitter didn't exist when Keaton landed the role, but if it had, the entire Internet might have overloaded. Many longtime readers of the comics (including this one) wondered how director Tim Burton could tap a comedic actor, his "Beetlejuice" star, to play a character with the mind of Sherlock Holmes, the physical prowess of James Bond and the nasty streak of Dirty Harry. Still, the "Batman" that emerged became

China’s Youngest Female Billionaire Sells Sydney Penthouse at a Loss

China’s youngest female billionaire has unloaded her triplex penthouse in Sydney, according to a listing for the home, recently updated to say it sold for an undisclosed amount. It appears Zetian "Nancy" Zhang, a Chinese businesswoman and social media phenomenon, took a hit on the sale of her four-bedroom aerie overlooking Sydney Harbour, amid a slowdown in the city’s housing market. The 25-year-old billionaire bought the newly built condo in 2015 for A$16.2 million (US$11.57 million), but was most recently asking only A$15 million for the home after listing it on and off for around a year and a half, according to property records. The official sale price was reportedly A$13.5 million, a loss of A$2.7 million, according to Domain.com, citing property records. The loss is not all that surprising given prices have cooled across Australian cities. Following years of white-hot growth, luxury home prices in Sydney declined for the first time in years, s

Property Wars: Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Vs. Taylor Swift

The feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West took a nasty turn last night when his wife, Kim Kardashian West, posted video clips of the rapper speaking to Ms. Swift on the phone about his song "Famous." In the clips, she appears to approve of provocative lyrics about herself in the song, but Ms. Swift responded on social media that she had not approved of the lyrics and didn’t know the conversation was being recorded. While it appears that Ms. Kardashian-West has the upper hand in this latest salvo in their ongoing feud, we looked at who is winning the property wars and Ms. Swift is in the lead when it comes to quantity at least, owning around five homes. TEAM TAYLOR: Beverly Hills, California The singer owns a four-bedroom home in Beverly Hills, which set her back just under $4 million in 2011. The 2,826-square-foot Cape Cod-style home dates to 1941 and boasts a one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse on the grounds. Ms. Swift gives Vogue a tour of her Beverl

Adam Levine Buys $32M Los Angeles Home

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, closed out 2018 by making a $32 million adjustment to their real estate portfolio. At the end of December, the couple paid $31.95 million in what appears to be an off-market sale for a sprawling property in Los Angeles’ posh celebrity enclave Pacific Palisades, according to records with PropertyShark. "America's most expensive home" keeps getting cheaper. A palatial Bel Air megamansion that originally listed for $250 million is now available for just(!) $150 million. https://t.co/JP3SEN3pgA pic.twitter.com/5vCNQKP5ZC — Mansion Global (@MansionGlobal) January 23, 2019 For the purchase, the pair used a trust—the same one used for many of their real estate purchases across the Los Angeles area over the past few years—records show. The six-bedroom property spans almost 9,000 square feet and was built in 1940, according to information on a past listing. It sits on a three-acre lot and

'Euphoria' and 'Trinkets' join crowded class of TV teens in trouble

There's no faster shortcut to "edginess" than pushing the envelope in depicting teenagers engaging in sex and drug use, usually in a way designed to give parents nightmares. Bringing something fresh to the formula is another matter -- especially when the class is so crowded -- for new series in separate wastelands: HBO's "Euphoria," starring Zendaya, and Netflix's "Trinkets." "Euphoria" takes the "teenage wasteland" concept to extremes, focusing on Zendaya's Rue, a young addict, and her equally troubled circle of friends. Beyond plenty of drug abuse, the youths are depicted in an assortment of sex acts -- with peers and adults -- through the first four episodes previewed. Many of those scenes are jarringly explicit, including as much male nudity as TV will allow. If there's a major new wrinkle here, it's the ubiquity of pornography, cellphones and texting, so much so that the narrative unfol

Buhari’s cabinet: Ambode, Bindow, Abubakar may get ministerial appointments

There are strong indications that the immediate past governors of Lagos, Adamawa and Bauchi states, Akinwunmi Ambode, Mohammed Bindow and Mohammed Abubakar, may be part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s next cabinet. WEXERES NEWS  learnt that the leadership of the ruling  All Progressives Congress had resolved that all the APC governors who lost their re-election bids would “automatically’ become the ministerial nominees for their states. Ambode, Bindow and Abubakar failed in their re-election bids in the last general elections. The APC Organising Secretary, Adamawa State chapter, Ahmed Lawan, confirmed the development. Lawan, who said the leadership of the party had yet to call for any list from the state chapter, however, said Bindow might be “automatically” nominated for the state, following the directive from the national leadership of the party. Bindow lost his second-term bid to Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party in a rerun. Lawan, who is also aspiring

Anthony Joshua gets £20m for shock defeat, Andy Ruiz £5m for winning

Andy Ruiz Jr might have produced one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history on Saturday, but his pay cheque was distinctly lightweight, compared to Anthony Joshua’s. The Mexican stunned Britain’s WBA, IBF and WBO champion to shake up heavyweight boxing’s established order in dramatic style. Ruiz is understood to have made only around £5m from the fight at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden,  The SUN  has reported. Compare that to the whopping £20m Joshua is thought to have made and you see just how wide the gulf in class between these two boxers was supposed to be. Despite taking home Joshua’s three belts, Ruiz was not even meant to be on the money list on Saturday night. He took the fight with just five weeks’ notice after Joshua’s original opponent Jarrell Miller failed three drugs tests in the build-up. The cash is the largest purse of Ruiz’s career, but he can expect to earn a lot more than that in any rematch later this year. His previous biggest payda
