US court acquits Air Peace boss, fines Mayfield $4000

Onyema After three years of investigation involving about five agencies of the American government and the subsequent legal fireworks, the District Court in Atlanta, Georgia has finally exonerated the Chief Executive of Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema of any business fraud. The court, which discovered that there was no loss against any bank in the indictment suit filed by the Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, however, ordered a probation and $4000 fine against a former staff of Springfield Aviation Company Inc., Ebony Mayfield on Friday.  A statement by the law firm of Augustine Alegeh & Co., counsel to the Airline, explained that Mayfield was an administrative staff of Springfield with limited knowledge in Letter of Credit Transactions, who pleaded guilty to one count in the indictment, presumably as she realised the futility of attempting to explain several Letters of Credit utilised for purchase of aircraft for Air Peace Limited in a jury trial. The crush on Saturday night happened mainly in a narrow lane in Seoul’s Itaewon district, after a huge crowd of people celebrating Halloween pushed into the downhill alley, witnesses said. At least 151 people, mostly women and young people in their 20s, were killed. The dead included 19 foreigners, according to officials. Dozens more were injured, with at least 19 of them in critical condition. Family Beats Daughter's Friend, Strips Her Over Fight

A yet-to-be-identified woman has been physically assaulted and stripped naked by the family of a girl simply known as Ella, in Nasarawa State. The incident which happened on Friday, started from a quarrel, where the yet-to-be-identified lady confronted Ella about how a certain number got on her phone and insisted she deletes it.  It escalated into a physical assault of Ella when she refused to delete the number. In videos watched by our correspondent, Ella involved her family members, who came, beat her friend, took her to a bush, stripped her naked and continued beating her. “You can’t kill me. I’m a man of God” – Apostle Johnson Suleman speaks after surviving assassination attempt (video)

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has broken his silence after surviving an assassination attempt in Auchi, Edo State, on Friday, October 21. It was earlier reported that gunmen attacked the clergyman’s convoy along Warake road in Auchi. The assailants opened fire at them and killed seven persons – four policemen, one driver and a lady. Fortunately for the clergyman, he and his family managed to escape unhurt. Speaking for the first time after the gruesome attack, Apostle Suleman in a video shared on his church’s social media page, said he knows those behind the attack but won’t mention their names. Network, led by Comrade Chris Azor, said that instead of implementing the recommendations, the government set up what it called Truth, Justice and Peace Commission. Azor, who was a member of the #EndSARS Panel, therefore, urged Soludo to act upon the Judicial Panel of inquiry report submitted in March 2022. “The state government in its effort to address security challenges in the State should, as a first step act on the report to ameliorate the various injuries suffered by victims and their families. “This should be fundamental towards achieving desired peace and security in the State and indeed the Southeast region,” Azor added.
