Knocks As Israeli Lawmakers Propose Bill To Outlaw Talk About Jesus, Jail Offenders

AFCON QUALIFIER: Super Eagles collect WOTOWOTO from Guinea-Bissau

The Super Eagles suffered a surprising loss to Guinea-Bissau in their first defeat of the AFCON 2023 qualifying campaign. The game was held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, where Guinea-Bissau picked up a stunning 1-0 victory. Mama Samba Balde scored the lone goal in the first half, proving to be the decisive moment of the game despite Nigeria’s best efforts to equalize. The Super Eagles started the game with expected energy and enthusiasm, looking to please their home fans. BREAKING: Appeal Court Sets Aside Tribunal Judgement, Upholds Adeleke As Osun Gov

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has set aside the decision of the Osun State Governorship Tribunal and has upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor of the state. Following the governorship polls in the state, an Election Petition Tribunal had sacked Adeleke from office, saying that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate did not score majority of lawful votes during the July 16 governorship polls. However, in a unanimous agreement by a three-man panel led by Justice Mohammed Shuaibu, the Court of Appeal quashed the tribunal’s judgement and gave its verdict to uphold Adeleke as rightful governor of Osun State. UK court finds Ekweremadu, wife guilty of organ trafficking

Ike and Beatrice Ekweremadu Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy senate president, has been found guilty of organ trafficking by a United Kingdom court. His wife, Beatrice, and Obinna Obeta, a doctor involved in the case, were also found guilty. The jury found that they conspired to bring the 21-year-old at the centre of the matter to London to exploit him for his kidney. According to the UK Guardian, it is the first verdict of its kind under the Modern Slavery Act. Their daughter, Sonia, was however cleared of the charges. The Ekweremadus were arrested by the London Metropolitan Police in June 2022. They were alleged to have attempted to convince doctors at the Royal Free Hospital in London to perform an £80,000 transplant on the donor who was presented as Sonia’s cousin. However, during the trial, the couple apologised for claiming that the donor was a relative. Police Confirm Killing Of Ebonyi PDP Chairman By Thugs

Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Nweke, in Ezza North Local Government Area during Saturday’s election. The Police Public Relation Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, revealed this to the pressmen in Abakaliki on Sunday. Onovwakpoyeya said the deceased was beaten to death by suspected thugs during the election. She said, “The DPO and his team tried to rescue him, but he was confirmed dead by doctors on duty when they got to the hospital.” PDP chieftain and a resident of the area, Innocent Nomeh, said the deceased was killed after being threatened by some thugs in the area. He said, “The chairman was killed after being threatened by some thugs. APC Campaign Coordinator Found Dead Hours After Abduction

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Coordinator in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chisom Lennard, has been found d€ad hours after he was abducted.   According to PUNCH, Lennard was kidnapped by the gunmen dressed in police uniform while voting for the governorship and state House of Assembly elections was ongoing at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West LGA.   It was gathered that the APC chieftain tried to stop the gunmen from snatching election materials when he was whisked away in a commando fashion. Association of Licenced Telcos of Nigeria Telecommunications operators have commenced the hamonisation of shortcodes across all networks. The announcement, which was made, yesterday in Lagos by the umbrella body, the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), said the hamonisation was pursuant to a regulatory modernisation initiative by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Soldiers shoot 15-year-old boy, keke operator dead in Lagos

COAS: Farouk Yahaya and Pelumi   The family of a 15-year-old boy, Pelumi Sulaimon, have been thrown into mourning after soldiers attached to Operation MESA allegedly shot him dead around Makoko, in the Yaba area of Lagos State. According to residents in the area, the soldiers were hired by political thugs to carry out a reprisal on their opponents in the community on Sunday, February 26. WEXERES News gathered that when the soldiers got to the community, they started shooting indiscriminately and in the process, a stray bullet hit Pelumi who was on his way to buy drinks for his friends to celebrate his birthday.
