Godwin Emefiele The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will Monday, April 8, 2024, arraign the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele at the Ikeja State High Court in Lagos for alleged abuse of office over allocation of billions of United States dollars. Emefiele, alongside his co-defendant, one Henry Isioma Omole, will be arraigned on 26-count before Justice Rahman Oshodi. The charge, marked ID/23787c/2024, dated April 3, 2024. was filed by Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN). EFCC alleged that Emefiele committed an abuse of office between 2022 and 2023 in Lagos. Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Lucky Irabor is currently lobbying the Director-General of the secret police, Department of State Services (DSS) on behalf of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, SaharaReporters has learnt. The DSS or State Security Service (SSS) has accused the CBN governor of being involved in the financing of terrorism.   Osun State Police Command, on Saturday, said it apprehended a corps member, a supervisor working with the Independent National Electoral Commission, and one other over manipulation of ongoing distribution of Permanent Voter Cards in Osu, Osun State. The police also said 38 PVCs were recovered from the suspects. A statement by the spokesperson for the command, Yemisi Opalola, obtained in Osogbo, noted that its officers have also launched a manhunt for two members of the Peoples Democratic Party, Wale Ojo and Ijamakinwa Olaoluwa, for inducing the corps member to give a PVC belonging to a particular voter to another person. Some policemen attached to the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department on Tuesday searched the home of the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu. A top police officer told The PUNCH that the policemen searched Magu’s house located on Abduljalil Street, Karu Site, on the outskirts of Abuja,  for several hours and made away with vital documents. The policemen who carried out the search were said to be the same ones who arrested Magu on Monday. The officer said, “On Tuesday evening, a team of policemen stormed the home of Magu in Karu.
