Two senior executives at Binance have been detained in Nigeria as Africa’s populous country tries to rein in speculation on the naira by cracking down on cryptocurrency exchanges. The executives flew to Nigeria following the country’s decision to ban several cryptocurrency trading websites last week but they were detained by the office of the country’s national security adviser and their passports seized, according to people familiar with the matter. An adviser to the office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Binance declined to comment. Nigerian authorities have turned their focus to cryptocurrency websites after a rapid devaluation of the naira that helped drive inflation to an almost three-decade high of 29.9 per cent. Ike and Beatrice Ekweremadu Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy senate president, has been found guilty of organ trafficking by a United Kingdom court. His wife, Beatrice, and Obinna Obeta, a doctor involved in the case, were also found guilty. The jury found that they conspired to bring the 21-year-old at the centre of the matter to London to exploit him for his kidney. According to the UK Guardian, it is the first verdict of its kind under the Modern Slavery Act. Their daughter, Sonia, was however cleared of the charges. The Finnish Police has reportedly arrested the pro-Biafran separatist agitator, Simon Ekpa, over his threats of no elections in Nigeria. A Nigerian soldier, identified as  Daniel Odih , has been killed by Boko Haram terrorists in Abuja just four days after his mother was murdered in Benue State. Daniel was one of the soldiers killed during an attack on a military checkpoint near Zuma Rock on Thursday night, July 28. Nigeria - Maiduguri Thirteen scrap-metal collectors in northeast Nigeria’s Borno state have died after a bomb they excavated blew up, security sources told WEXERES. Sixteen metal scavengers from a displaced persons’ camp in Bama found the bomb while digging for scrap on Monday in the bush on the outskirts of town. “The bomb exploded as they were pushing it in a cart toward the town, killing 13 and seriously injuring three,” Babakura Kolo, a leader in a local militia, said on Tuesday.
