A businessman, identified only as Felix, aka   Tiger , and two other yet-to-be-identified traders have been shot dead by military officers during a clash with union members and traders at the Aguiyi Ironsi International Trade Centre, in the Paramo area of Ladipo Market, Lagos State. PUNCH Metro  gathered from witnesses that a military officer and his orderly visited the market on Tuesday to change the spare part he bought from a trader. On their way out, some union members, who were at the entrance of the market, reportedly demanded payment of N200 from them for gate pass. There was disquiet at the Ogun State Judcial Panel of Investigation Against Police Brutality when a policeman, Sergeant Adeleke Olalekan, allegedly threatened members of the panel. The panel, which sat at the Magistrate Court 1, Isabo, Abeokuta, on Monday, was cross-examining the Officer in-Charge of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, CSP Gbenga Megbope. Olalekan had accompanied his boss, Megbope, who was a respondent in a case of brutality against some people in the state. Olalekan was, however, allegedly caught pointing at the panel members in a manner suggestive of threats. The Chairman of the panel, Justice Solomon Olugbemi, called him out and booked him for punishment as stipulated under the commission of inquiry law. An Ado Ekiti High Court has sentenced a 57 years old Assistant Commissioner of Police, Okubo Aboye, and his mechanic, 39-years-old Niyi Afolabi, to life imprisonment for receiving stolen vehicle. Justice John Adeyeye also sentenced seven others to five years imprisonment without an option of fine for kidnapping. They are Solomon Ayodele Obamoyegun  (39), Femi Omiawe (40), Damilola Obamoyegun (20), Bose Sade Ajayi (30), George Lucky (35), Chukwuma Nnamani (22) and Sunday Ogunleye (45). Aboye was a serving ACP at the time the incident happened and the mechanic was said to have bought a stolen vehicle from the kidnappers, who were sentenced to five years. A deputy registrar in the Federal University of Technology,  Akure,  Ondo State, Dr Amos Arijesuyo, has been reportedly shot by  gunmen in the  Iwaraja end of the Ilesa- Akure Expressway in Osun State. Arijesuyo, who worked at the Guildance and Counselling section of the Students Affairs Department of the university was said to have been attacked on Saturday by the gunmen alongside his driver and one unidentified person. It was gathered that the deceased was also a senior Pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church, Glory of God, FUTA. A pastor of the church, Pastor Olu Aladesanmi, who confirmed the incident, said it happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday. Ntekim-Rex, according to a 2018 statement by IBM, had beaten 17,000 others from around the world, including finalists from Brazil, Germany, India, Japan, Nepal, and the United States to emerge as the co-regional winner of the annual Master the Mainframe competition, organised by AngelHack and IBM Z Academic Initiative.
